This policy covers horizonhues.ca, operated by Horizon Hues Installations (Nanaimo, British Columbia). It is written to be read, not to be hidden behind.
What gets collected
Only two things:
- What you type into the contact form. Your name, and whichever of email or phone you give, plus the location and description of the work.
- Standard server and analytics data. Page requests, approximate region, referring page and browser type, collected by the hosting provider.
Nothing else. There is no account to create, no newsletter sign-up, and no third-party advertising or social tracking script on any page of this site.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own. Visitor numbers are measured with a privacy-focused, cookie-free analytics tool that records page views without identifying individual people or building a profile of you. That is why you are not being asked to accept anything.
Why it's collected
Contact form details are used to answer your enquiry, prepare a quote, and carry out work if you go ahead. They are not used for marketing, and they are never sold, rented or traded.
How long it's kept
Enquiries that don't turn into work are kept for up to 24 months, in case you get back in touch. Where work goes ahead, records are kept as long as needed for warranty, tax and accounting purposes.
Who else sees it
Only the service providers needed to run the site and the business: website hosting, email, and accounting software. They process the information on Horizon Hues Installations' behalf and are not permitted to use it for anything else. Information may also be disclosed where the law requires it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, so anything you send through the form is encrypted in transit. No system is perfect, but the amount of information held is deliberately small.
Your choices
You can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Send the request to the contacts below and it will be handled within 30 days. Under British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act you can also raise a concern with the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for BC.
Children
This site is aimed at property owners and businesses, and is not directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be noted on this page.
